A Lox Christmas Letter- sort of

Greetings Friends-
It's been a month of inactivity for blogging- but a month of much activity elsewhere I assure you. At risk of sounding too much like a Christmas form letter, I continue... We had a lovely festive season complete with
- Amsterdam trip! Biking by canals was a major highlight, especially for me who hadn't set foot on a bike in 10 years- MAJOR breakthrough- and I survived! Unfortunately, I was later to be knocked down by a guy on a bike while I was standing still- and get some serious whiplash- I've now recovered and can look up again- relief!
- lots of visiting of family friends who filled us up with yummee food and sent us on lovely walks, - visits from my mom and Andrew's dad! Yes, we had a bustling little flat for Christmas. I made a wicked nut roast if I do say so myself and my mom helped prove that the Long women do some sweet sweet vegan cooking. Andrew is a baker extrodinaire himself- making cinnamon buns for Christmas breakfast. Both our parents were a little overwhelmed by the hill up to main campus. I suggest hill training for all you visitors-to-be.
- recent fixation with Rummy in Flat 3- Andrew is in the lead but I'm pulling ahead- victory will be mine!
- being warm! Amazing! I think the coldest it's been was three and that drove everyone ballistic. Wimps. Yeah, Sita, I'm talking to you (JUST KIDDING- you're just the only Brit who reads this, I think)
- eating vegan mince tarts with vegan custard. I have to make this a seasonal tradition in Canada.
- Fun fun New Years eve party with 3 friends who know how to boogie. Our friend Mike unleashed his inner break dancer and rocked out. The night began with Light of India food which anyone who comes to visit us will be forced to experience- it's the best!!

... and lots more.

Now, I'm back to school. At school at the moment in fact though-I had a meaningful chat this morning with my supervisor this morning about vegan pastry, her chickens, and frozen spinach. She is delightful.

Much merriment to you all! Don't succumb to January blues and guilt and insane amounts of detoxing and such. The New Year doesn't need to be a time for the New You! I love the old yous! xoxox
