Even further back in time

This was "Green Planet" in Amsterdam. It is one of my favourite restaurants, and I've only been their once. Their White Soup was indescribably good.

TMMFOH!

This was one of the first stores I saw once we left the train station in Amsterdam. I immediately loved the city. What a tribute to have put the Bat-symbol, Superman's S, Spider-man's eyes and the Decepticon symbol in stained class. I guess we know who the new Gods are.

And then some genius had podged the Autobot symbol to his whatever-this-is. I've got to do that for my car.

Zooming to a date much closer to the present, Andrew Colquhoun and I were opponents in Taboo.

Some German pillboxes from Juno Beach.

I was in Paris for, like, 40 seconds.

Flashback to December/January by means of irresponsible blogging

In Poole, on the way to the Ferry to Cherbourg, Dad and I found Robert Rogers House. (That's the name of my Uncle Robbie). (minus "House").

This was outside the Caen WWII museum.

An Old MILL! Cool! I live what they've done with it since it passed it's prime, and it reminds me of Conan.

They seriously put slices of lime in a vanilla beer. Yeah, I mean, France was okay...

This was pretty, I thought.

Scattershot photos

Yeah, Stephanie's pretty cheap. No, really she was protesting human slavery.

We had a potluck and Tom and Katie came. Even though they're a couple, they each brought a dish! What effort! All of the evening's food was enjoyed by the guests.

We went to a bad taste party. Chris Dupain here was a gay military guy (controversial) and Stephanie wore too much makeup as part of our "white trash America" theme. We even had "American" accents!

Meanwhile, in the past, I made Thor's hammer out of a bottle and a cereal box. Here I'm killing Chris Duke with it. He survived.

Back at the Bad Taste Party, my shirt said "Allah may forgive you , but we won't. 9/11 Never Forget, Never Forgive." How's that for controversy, Dupain?

again! Amazing!

Yo!
I'm assuming you all saw the first Wooden Spoon episode... another is to be shot within the next couple of weeks (that's right, stay on the edge of your seats!) but in the meantime, this from the world of student television featuring ME- in the role of "arguing woman". http://xmedia.ex.ac.uk/tv/watch/298
also lots of shots of our fair city- cathedral, central station etc.
In other news, we've had a glorious sunny weekend. Also, I neglected to mention before that another highlight of my January was finally getting an i-pod. I got a much-discounted one on amazon- used but flawless and I am definitely an i-pod convert. Sondheim one moment, Modest Mouse the next... the possibilities.

February already?

Hellooo World!

Stepheter here. I'm a bit ashamed at my absence on the old blog, as of late. How to summarize a month in a few sentences? Hmmm... well, here are some highlights that spring to mind:

- giving a drama-based workshop on fair trade bananas to my class... now I'm some kind of "banana expert" and have been invited to speak as such at a local fair trade celebration. The other speakers are a coffee farmer and a chocolate maker... interesting.
- having all you can eat tapas at Al Farid with a group of friends. Apart from the sight of giant meatballs on my table, it was a (mostly-vegan) feast of greatness
- watching a lot of uk daytime tv when I was bedridden for 2 days with a virus. Not exactly a highlight but a lasting memory nonetheless.
- getting a new teapot in a boxing day sale. I think I only say that because I am drinking tea from it as I write but it rules and bring cozey-ed warmness to my belly daily
- running a t-shirt customizing workshop- sadly, this overlapped with the start of the virus but was fun and crafty nonetheless
- volunteering at a local high school teaching drama. It's a "tough" school by Exeter's standards- but I love the kids and am in awe of the coolness of the drama department.

Busy times ahead- an epic moor outdoorsy weekend to celebrate mine and a friend's birthdays (what moor could I want? Sorry, had to say it), "green" cook zine to compile (any contributions from afar would be welcome!) , paper writing, paper writing, paper writing, a visit from my dad and his family!, the all-male-cook wooden spoon edition, and hopefully more
blogging than I've done lately!

Hope everyone is well and sending loads of love across the Atlantic!
